Medication management
-
Dr. Haddad can provide psychiatric medication management (psychopharmacology) in combination with psychotherapy (see above) or as a stand-alone treatment for individuals who are either not interested in psychotherapy or who already have another therapist. If you are already seeing another therapist, Dr. Haddad will work with them to coordinate your care.
Prior to prescribing any medication, Dr. Haddad will discuss the potential risks, benefits, and alternatives of this treatment to help you make an informed decision regarding your treatment options. If you are currently on medications and are feeling stable, Dr. Haddad can also talk with you about the possible risks vs benefits of lowering your medication dose and/or tapering off medications entirely, as well as help devise a safe treatment plan to help you do so.
Visits for medication management only typically occur more frequently when beginning starting or changing medication (typically once or twice a month) and can be more spaced out when your medication regimen is more stable (typically once every one to two months.)
In accordance with state regulations, patients prescribed controlled substances will need to be evaluated in-person on a regular basis.
